SECTION 31-22-11

   § 31-22-11  Inspection of school buses.– (a) The division of motor vehicles shall inspect or cause to be inspected allschool buses used for the transportation of school children as defined in§ 31-1-3(v) at least twice throughout the year. Both of the inspectionsare to be done at a state certified facility on a semiannual scheduled basis.These inspections will be known as tear down inspections that will includepulling wheels at least once each year if the school bus is equipped with drumbrakes and any other work deemed necessary by the state employed or statecertified inspectors. Reports of the inspections shall be made in writing andshall be filed with the inspection division of the department of revenue, andthe reports shall be available at no cost for public inspection during usualbusiness hours of the division.

   (b) Upon receipt of the report, the inspection division shallimmediately forward a copy to the registered owner and to the superintendentand school committee of the school district for which the school bus transportschildren.
