§ 31-23.2-3 Unlawful devices. – It is unlawful for any person to advertise for sale, to sell, to use, or toinstall or to have installed, any device which causes the odometer to registerany mileage other than the true mileage driven. For the purpose of this sectionthe "true mileage driven" is that mileage driven by the vehicle as registeredby the odometer within the manufacturer's designed tolerance.
