SECTION 31-25-19

   § 31-25-19  Removal of excess fromoverweight vehicles. – Whenever a proper officer upon weighing a vehicle and load, as provided in§ 31-25-18, determines that the weight is unlawful, the officer mayrequire the driver to stop the vehicle in a suitable place and remain standinguntil the portion of the load is removed as may be necessary to reduce thegross weight of the vehicle to such a limit as permitted under this chapter.All material so unloaded shall be cared for by the owner or operator of thevehicle at the risk of the owner or operator.
