SECTION 31-3-17.3

   § 31-3-17.3  Temporary plates. – (a) The administrator of motor vehicles may design and issue, under suchregulations as he or she shall deem appropriate, temporary registration plates.Any vehicle issued a temporary plate may be operated on the public highways fora period of five (5) days from the date of issuance.

   (b) The administrator of motor vehicles shall design andissue, under such regulations as he or she shall deem appropriate, temporaryregistration plates to be issued by horse trailer dealers for the use on horsetrailers. Any horse trailer issued a temporary plate may be operated on thepublic highways for a period of twenty (20) days from the date of issuance.

   (c) Temporary plates shall be issued at a charge of tendollars ($10.00) per plate.
