SECTION 31-38-18

   § 31-38-18  Conduct of hearings. – The commission shall hold and conduct hearings in accordance with §31-38-17. These hearings shall be governed by rules to be adopted by thecommission, and the commission shall not be bound by technical rules ofevidence. The commission may subpoena witnesses and require the producing ofdocumental evidence, and shall sit as an impartial independent body in order tomake decisions affecting the interest of the motor vehicle inspection ownerandoor operator. The concurrence of a majority of the members present andvoting of the commission is required for a decision.
