SECTION 36-9-20.5

   § 36-9-20.5  Purchase of service credit– Inactive status. – Notwithstanding any general or public law to the contrary, any state employeeor teacher participating in the employees' retirement system who is on workers'compensation may purchase up to four (4) years of service credit for timecurrently permitted to be purchased under law without the necessity ofreturning to active status as an employee. The member shall pay to the systemthe full actuarial cost as defined in subsection 36-8-1(9), except as providedin § 36-9-31 for military service credit.
