§ 37-16-4 Stay of legal proceedingspending arbitration. – If any suit or proceedings be brought upon any issue referable to arbitrationunder contract in writing providing for arbitration, the court in which thesuit is pending upon being satisfied that the issue involved in the suit orproceedings is referable to arbitration under the contract, shall onapplication of one of the parties, stay the trial of the action untilarbitration has been held.
