SECTION 37-16-8

   § 37-16-8  Scheduling and notice ofarbitration hearing – Adjournment. – Subject to the terms of the contract, if any are specified therein, thearbitrators selected as prescribed in this chapter must appoint a time andplace for the hearing of the matters submitted to them, and must cause noticethereof to be given to each of the parties. They, or a majority of them, mayadjourn the hearing from time to time upon the application of either party forgood cause shown or upon their own motion, but not beyond the day fixed if adate in the contract, if any, for rendering their award, unless the time sofixed is extended by the written consent of the parties to the contract ortheir attorney, or the parties have continued with the arbitration withoutobjection to adjournment.
