SECTION 38-2-7

   § 38-2-7  Denial of access. – (a) Any denial of the right to inspect or copy records provided for under thischapter shall be made to the person or entity requesting the right by thepublic body official who has custody or control of the public record in writinggiving the specific reasons for the denial within ten (10) business days of therequest and indicating the procedures for appealing the denial. Except for goodcause shown, any reason not specifically set forth in the denial shall bedeemed waived by the public body.

   (b) Failure to comply with a request to inspect or copy thepublic record within the ten (10) business day period shall be deemed to be adenial. Except that for good cause, this limit may be extended for a period notto exceed thirty (30) business days.
