SECTION 39-26-8

   § 39-26-8  Interaction with other policies.– (a) Rhode Island has established a system-benefits charge (SBC), a portion ofwhich is dedicated to supporting renewable energy, administered in accordancewith the provisions of subsections 39-2-1.2(b) and (c); other states havesimilar policies. The office of energy resources is hereby directed tocollaborate with the division of public utilities, the trustees of therenewable energy development fund, the distribution company with otherinterests and parties, as appropriate, in maximizing the combined impact andefficiency of the renewable energy program established by subsections39-2-1.2(b) and (c) and the renewable energy standard.

   (b) It is the intent of this chapter that generationattributes and NE-GIS certificates applied towards Rhode Island renewableenergy standard compliance may not be used towards compliance with staterenewable energy obligations relating to an obligated entity's load in otherstates.
