SECTION 40.1-2-20

   § 40.1-2-20  Records of venereal disease.– For the statistical purposes of the department of health, the department ofmental health, retardation, and hospitals shall keep records of all cases ofvenereal diseases in institutions under its control, but those records shallnot be open to public inspection, and the department of mental health,retardation, and hospitals shall make every reasonable effort to keep secretthe identity of those with such diseases so far as may be consistent with theenforcement of the provisions of §§ 40.1-2-16 – 40.1-2-21 andwith the protection of the public health.
