SECTION 40.1-26-6

   § 40.1-26-6  Immunity from liability.– The state shall protect and hold harmless any volunteer member of a humanrights committee from financial loss and expense, including legal fees andcosts, if any, arising out of any claim, demand, or suit for damages resultingfrom acts or omissions committed in the discharge of his or her duties with thecommittee and within the scope of his or her activities therewith which mayconstitute negligence but which acts are not wanton, malicious, or grosslynegligent as determined by a court of competent jurisdiction.
