SECTION 40-8.2-11

   § 40-8.2-11  Barring or suspendingparticipation in program. – Whenever a provider is sentenced or placed on probation for an offense underthis chapter, the trial judge may, in his or her discretion, order that theprovider be permanently barred from further participation in the program, thatthe provider's participation in the program be suspended for a definite periodof time not exceeding two (2) years, or that the provider conform to applicablefederal regulations. For the purposes of this section, the Rhode IslandMedicaid program may submit a recommendation to the trial judge as to whetherthe provider should be suspended or barred from the program. Nothing containedherein shall be construed to prevent the Rhode Island Medicaid program fromimposing its own administrative sanctions.
