§ 41-5.2-11 Uniform rules – Mouthpieces. – (a) All contestants are required to wear a mouthpiece during competition. Themouthpiece shall be subject to examination and approval by the attendingphysician.

(b) The round cannot begin without the mouthpiece in place.

(c) If the mouthpiece is involuntarily dislodged duringcompetition, the referee shall call time, clean the mouthpiece and reinsert themouthpiece at the first opportune moment, without interfering with theimmediate action.
