SECTION 42-100-1

   § 42-100-1  State poet. – The governor shall appoint a "state poet" to serve for a term of five (5) yearsat an annual salary of one thousand dollars ($1,000), and shall issue to theappointee a certificate upon which is designated the name of the appointee, thewords, "state poet," and the term of office set forth from beginning to endingmonth and year of service.
