SECTION 42-128-11

   § 42-128-11  Executive director –Employees. – The commission shall appoint an executive director, who shall not be subject tothe provisions of chapter 4 of title 36, and who shall serve as the statehousing commissioner. The commission shall set the compensation and the termsof employment of the executive director. The commission shall also cause to beemployed such staff and technical and professional consultants as may berequired to carry out the powers and duties set forth in this chapter. Allstaff, including the executive director, may be secured through a memorandum ofagreement with the Rhode Island housing and mortgage finance corporation, asprovided for in § 42-128-2(2)(ii). Any person who is in the civil serviceand is transferred to the commission may retain civil service status.
