SECTION 42-17.7-4

   § 42-17.7-4  Clerk – Appointment– Powers and duties – Compensation. – (a) There shall be an administrative clerk of the division of administrativeadjudication. The governor, with the advice and consent of the senate, shallappoint the administrative clerk.

   (b) The clerk shall have the custody of the seal of theadministrative adjudication division, have general charge of the office, keep afull record of proceedings, file and preserve all documents and papersentrusted to his or her care, prepare such papers and notices as may berequired by the director or the hearing officers, and perform such other dutiesas may be prescribed. The clerk shall have the power to issue subpoenas forwitnesses and documents and to administer oaths in all cases before any hearingofficer or pertaining to the duties of his or her office.

   (c) The clerk shall be a member of the classified service.
