SECTION 42-28-13

   § 42-28-13  Members assigned to departmentof environmental management. – Upon the request of the director of environmental management, duly presented tothe superintendent, that a member or members of the division be assigned toduty with the department of environmental management, the superintendent, inhis or her discretion, may assign a member or members of the division to dutywith the department of environmental management, and thereupon thesuperintendent, in his or her judgment, may appoint a member or members of thedivision of state police in addition to the number of members hereinaboveprovided for; provided, however, that upon making the request, the director ofenvironmental management shall agree to pay the salary and expenses of themember or members of the division of state police during the period of the dutyin the manner hereinafter specified. Each such additional member of thedivision shall thereupon become a member of the division of state police, andeach member so assigned to duty as aforesaid shall during the period of suchduty continue to be a member of the division of state police, but his or hersalary and expenses shall be paid by the director of environmental management.The superintendent shall have full power at all times to withdraw any memberassigned to duty with the department of environmental management and assignanother member to his or her place or to discontinue such duty and to make noassignment to replace.
