SECTION 42-28-23

   § 42-28-23  Military credit on retirement.– Whenever a member of the Rhode Island state police, other than a civilianmember, has been granted a leave of absence from the state police to enable himor her to serve in the armed forces of the United States in time of war ornational emergency, the time during which he or she so serves while on leave ofabsence shall be computed toward his or her twenty (20) years of state policeservice for retirement as provided in § 42-28-22, except when the membershall have been dishonorably discharged from the armed forces.
