SECTION 42-49-2

   § 42-49-2  Functions. – The little state houses shall:

   (1) Hear complaints from individual citizens and entertainsuggestions for improving functions of government;

   (2) Work to remedy complaints and to implement suggestions,where feasible;

   (3) Provide information and direct citizens to theappropriate governmental agency or department;

   (4) Where appropriate, point out shortcomings in governmentaloperations to the attention of the governor and state departments or agencies;and

   (5) Compile a list of complaints handled, suggestionsreceived, and other services rendered into an annual report to be presented tothe general assembly.
