SECTION 42-56-15

   § 42-56-15  References to jailers and jailkeepers. – Whenever, in any general or special law, reference is, or shall be, made to thekeeper of the Providence County jail, and/or to a jailer of any jail in any ofthe several counties, that reference shall mean, and be construed to mean, thedirector of corrections, or his or her designee.
