SECTION 42-56-17

   § 42-56-17  Identification and descriptionof inmates. – The director of corrections, or his or her designee, shall cause prisonersconfined under sentence in the adult correctional institutions to be physicallyand factually described in accordance with accepted criminal identificationstandards for the identification of criminals. The director of corrections, orhis or her designee, shall cause identification to be made by a person orpersons in the official service of the state, and shall prescribe rules andregulations for keeping accurate records at those institutions, and forclassifying and indexing the records.
