SECTION 42-56-32

   § 42-56-32  Classification unit. – Within the department of corrections there shall be a classification unit underthe supervision of the director, or his or her designee, which shall collectand record all of the data concerning each person sentenced to the adultcorrectional institutions. This unit shall periodically review the file of eachperson and shall report to the board its findings and recommendations for thosepersons who shall have been sentenced to imprisonment for more than one yearfor such action as the board may deem necessary and appropriate. Theclassification unit shall furnish to the parole board, for its consideration inevery case, the file of each person under consideration for parole.
