SECTION 42-66.4-1

   § 42-66.4-1  Purpose. – (a) The director of the department of elderly affairs and the director of thedepartment of human services shall cooperate and collaborate in obtainingapproval from the health care financing administration for a home and communitybased services waiver. The waiver shall be designated to bring people who havebeen admitted to a skilled nursing and/or intermediate care facility back intothe community. The waiver shall be reviewed and expanded periodically asfunding is made available.

   (b) The department of elderly affairs shall effectuate acoordinated outreach and education program to create an awareness of thealternatives to placement in a skilled nursing and/or intermediate carefacility. The outreach and education program shall be directed to both healthcare providers and potential clients.
