SECTION 42-75.2-6

   § 42-75.2-6  Administration. – (a) The Rhode Island state council on the arts is responsible for theadministration of this chapter. It has the power and authority to contract withartists in any manner that is in conformity with this chapter, and it has theauthority to make expenditures from the art for public facilities fund, fromthe funds available in that fund. It shall select and appoint each panelprovided by this chapter and has the authority to make expenditures for theexpenses of the panel as provided in this chapter.

   (b) The Rhode Island state council on the arts shall keep aninventory of the works of art acquired under this chapter. It shall alsoperiodically review and examine the artwork, reporting to the general assemblywhen restoring, repairing, or replacing any work of art is necessary and howthat should be accomplished. Any costs in this connection shall be chargedagainst the art for public facilities fund. The costs of administering theprogram, other than immediately aforementioned, shall be provided by thegeneral assembly as it deems fit in its annual appropriation to the RhodeIsland state council on the arts.

   (c) The Rhode Island state council on the arts shall submitan annual report to the general assembly listing all action taken pursuant tothis chapter.
