SECTION 45-22.1-6

   § 45-22.1-6  Interstate participation.– Wherever a joint municipal planning commission has been or is being establishedto serve the Rhode Island portion of an area, which for planning purposesconstitutes a logical planning area and extends beyond the boundaries of thestate, the commission may admit to membership counties or municipalities thatare part of the same area but located in other states. Municipalities mayparticipate through membership and financial support in joint municipalplanning commissions that have been or are being established in other stateswhen the municipalities are part of the same region served by the out-of-statejoint municipal planning commission.
