SECTION 47-1-5

   § 47-1-5  Inspection of mercantile weightsand measures – Reports of inaccuracy. – The director of the department of labor and training may, in the discharge ofhis or her duties, inspect the weights, measures, and balances of any person orpersons, which are used for selling any goods, wares, merchandise, or othercommodities, or for public weighing in any town or city in this state, and ifhe or she finds the weights, measures, or balances to be inaccurate, he or sheshall forthwith inform the mayor of the city or the president of the towncouncil, as the case may be, and the mayor or president shall at once call theattention of the town or city sealer thereto.
