SECTION 5-30-8

   § 5-30-8  Certification to practicephysiotherapy. – (a) Every person desiring to practice physiotherapy in addition to chiropracticmedicine and who completed a course of four (4) years, of eight (8) monthseach, in some school of chiropractic medicine approved by the division ofprofessional regulation of the department of health, completed a course ofthree (3) years, of nine (9) months each, at some school of chiropracticmedicine approved by the division and an additional year, of at least six (6)months, in physiotherapy and all branches of that field, at that school, or hasserved as an intern for six (6) months in any year at an institution approvedby the division, and satisfies the division that he or she is qualified, maytake an examination before the state board of chiropractic examiners todetermine his or her qualification to practice physiotherapy in addition tochiropractic medicine.

   (b) Every applicant for that examination shall pay a fee ofsixty dollars ($60.00) for the examination to the division of professionalregulation of the department of health, provided that if the examination istaken at the same time as the examination to determine the applicant's fitnessto practice chiropractic medicine, but one fee of ninety dollars ($90.00) ischarged. Every candidate who passes that examination shall be recommended bythe division of professional regulation of the department of health to thedirector of the department of health to receive a certificate of qualificationto practice physiotherapy.
