SECTION 5-33.2-14

§ 5-33.2-14 Payments for securing businessprohibited. – Every funeral establishment, funeral director/embalmer, or its agent orrepresentatives, who pays, or causes to be paid, directly or indirectly, anysum of money or other valuable consideration for the securing of business, andevery person who accepts any sum of money or other valuable consideration,directly or indirectly, from a funeral director/embalmer or an agent or ownerof a funeral establishment in order that the latter may obtain business, isguilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished as subsequentlyprovided, and the certificate of any funeral director/embalmer or the licenseof any funeral establishment violating the provisions of this section or whoseagents or servants violate these provisions, shall be revoked by the division.This section does not prohibit the funeral establishment or funeraldirector/embalmer from advertising.
