§ 5-34-35 Qualifications of a certifiedregistered nurse practitioner applicant. (a) An applicant for licensure to practice as a certified registered nursepractitioner shall submit to the board of nurse registration and nursingeducation written evidence on forms furnished by the division of professionalregulation, verified by oath, that:
(1) The applicant is a registered nurse who has completed anaccredited educational program resulting in a master's degree in nursing and/oran approved nurse practitioner course of study. This curriculum must includeboth a didactic component and supervised clinical experience. Effective January1, 2004, all applicants for initial licensure must complete an accreditededucational program resulting in a master's degree with a major in nursing.
(2) The applicant passed a national qualifying examinationrecognized by the board of nurse registration and nursing education.
(b) A license to practice as a certified registered nursepractitioner may be issued to an applicant who is licensed by examination orendorsement as a certified registered nurse practitioner under the laws ofanother state or territory if, in the opinion of the board, the applicant meetsthe qualifications required of certified registered nurse practitioners in thisstate.
