SECTION 5-38.1-1

§ 5-38.1-1 Local licensing – Fees– Penalties. – The city council of the city of Pawtucket is authorized to provide, byordinance, for the issuing and revocation in its discretion of licenses to allpersons, partnerships, corporations, or establishments doing any repairs orrepair work to any type of motor vehicle or motor vehicle parts, exclusive ofauto body repairs, within the city of Pawtucket, subject to the listedconditions and restrictions contained in this chapter and for a term notexceeding one year; and also for charging and collecting fees for thoselicenses; provided, that the prescribed fees do not exceed the sum of onehundred dollars ($100) for any qualified licensee; and also to fix a penaltyfor doing motor vehicle repairs without a license or in violation of anyordinance or regulation made as authorized by this section, not exceeding forany one offense a fine of five hundred dollars ($500), or imprisonment notexceeding six (6) months.
