   § 5-40.1-6  Licenses required. – (a) Pursuant to this section, no person may practice occupational therapy, orhold himself or herself out as an occupational therapist or occupationaltherapy assistant, or as being able to practice as an occupational therapist oroccupational therapy assistant, or as being able to practice occupationaltherapy, or to render occupational therapy services, in this state unless he orshe is licensed under the provisions of this chapter and the rules andregulations authorized by this chapter.

   (b) Only an individual may be licensed under this chapter.

   (c) Only an individual licensed in this state as anoccupational therapist may use the words "occupational therapist", "licensedoccupational therapist", or "occupational therapist registered" in connectionwith his or her name or place of business; or may use other words, letters,abbreviations, or insignia indicating or implying that he or she is anoccupational therapist.

   (d) Only an individual licensed in this state as anoccupational therapy assistant may use the words "certified occupationaltherapy assistant", "occupational therapy assistant", or "licensed occupationaltherapy assistant" in connection with his or her name or place of business; ormay use other words, letters, abbreviations, or insignia indicating or implyingthat he or she is an occupational therapy assistant.
