SECTION 5-57-12

   § 5-57-12  Licensing authority –Issuance of subpoenas – Contempt powers. – (a) In any investigation conducted under the provisions of this chapter, thelicensing authority may issue subpoenas to compel the attendance of witnessesand the production of relevant books, accounts, records, and documents. Theofficer conducting a hearing may administer oaths and require testimony orevidence to be given under oath.

   (b) If a witness refuses to obey a subpoena or give anyevidence relevant to proper inquiry by the licensing authority, the licensingauthority may petition a court of competent jurisdiction within the state tocompel the witness to obey the subpoena.
