SECTION 5-8.1-1

   § 5-8.1-1  Declaration of policy. –In order to safeguard life, health, and property and to promote the publicwelfare, the practice of land surveying in this state is declared to be subjectto regulation in the public interest. It is unlawful for any person topractice, or to offer to practice, land surveying in this state, as defined inthe provisions of this chapter, or to use in connection with his or her name orotherwise assume, or advertise any title or description tending to convey theimpression that he or she is a professional land surveyor, unless the personhas been registered or exempted.
