SECTION 9-29-14.1

   § 9-29-14.1  The state exempt from fees.– The state of Rhode Island, its departments, agencies, boards, and commissionsshall not be required to pay any fees, including appeal fees, to the superiorcourt or district courts or the clerks thereof, or any fees or charges for theservice or travel of sheriffs or deputy sheriffs for serving any writ,citation, subpoena, or other process or for taking bail, bond, or inventory orfor making copies of writs for or in behalf of the state; provided, however,that fees and charges authorized by law shall nevertheless be taxable as costs.
