Enrollment of child participating in medical assistance program — Employer-sponsored health plan.

When the department of social and health services has determined that it is cost-effective to enroll a child participating in a medical assistance program under chapter 74.09 RCW in an employer-sponsored health plan, the carrier shall permit the enrollment of the participant who is otherwise eligible for coverage in the health plan without regard to any open enrollment restrictions. The request for special enrollment shall be made by the department or participant within sixty days of the department's determination that the enrollment would be cost-effective.
