Statutes > New-york > Cor > Article-6 > 132§ 132. Retaking of an escaped inmate. If an inmate escapes from a correctional facility, he may be arrested and returned by the superintendent or by an officer or employee of the department or by any peace officer, acting pursuant to his special duties, or police officer without a warrant; or a magistrate may cause such escaped inmate to be arrested and held in custody until he can be removed to a correctional facility, as in the case of a commitment. Rewards for the taking of such escaped inmates may be provided for by the rules of the department.
