§ 206. Procedures  for determination of representation status of local  employees. 1. Every government (other than the state or a  state  public  authority),  acting through its legislative body, is hereby empowered to  establish procedures, not inconsistent with the  provisions  of  section  two hundred seven of this article and after consultation with interested  employee organizations and administrators of public services, to resolve  disputes  concerning the representation status of employee organizations  of employees of such government.    2. In the absence of such procedures, such disputes shall be submitted  to the board in  accordance  with  section  two  hundred  five  of  this  article.
