§  202.  Deputies;  employees.  (a) The superintendent shall appoint a  first deputy superintendent  and  may  appoint  additional  deputies  as  provided  for  by  law. The superintendent may remove at will any deputy  appointed by him, except as may  be  otherwise  provided  by  the  civil  service law.    (b)  The  superintendent  may appoint and remove from time to time, in  accordance with law and any applicable rules of the state civil  service  commission,  such  employees  as he may deem necessary for the efficient  administration of the department. The  compensation  of  such  employees  shall be determined by the superintendent in accordance with law.
