§  1373.  Separability.  If  any  clause, sentence, paragraph, part or  provision of this title shall for any reason be adjudged by a  court  of  competent  jurisdiction  to be unconstitutional, ineffective or invalid,  such judgment shall not affect, impair or invalidate  the  remainder  of  this  title,  but  shall  be  confined  in  its operation to the clause,  sentence, paragraph, part or provision thereof directly involved in  the  controversy in which such judgment shall have been rendered.
