* § 404-v. Distinctive plates for the United States Naval Armed Guard.  1.  Any  honorably  discharged  member  of the United States Naval Armed  Guard residing in this state shall, upon request, be  issued  a  license  plate bearing the words "United States Naval Armed Guard", or such other  phrase as the commissioner shall designate showing the registrant served  in  the  United  States  Naval Armed Guard. Application for such license  plate shall be filed with the commissioner in such form  and  detail  as  the commissioner shall prescribe.    2.  The distinctive plate authorized pursuant to this section shall be  issued upon proof, satisfactory to the commissioner, that the  applicant  is an honorably discharged veteran who served in the United States Naval  Armed Guard.    3. A distinctive plate issued pursuant to this section shall be issued  in  the  same  manner as other number plates upon payment of the regular  registration fee prescribed by section four hundred one of this article,  provided, however, that an additional one-time  service  charge  of  ten  dollars  shall  be  charged  for such plate. Provided, however, that one  year after the effective date of this section funds  in  the  amount  of  five  thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be available, shall be  allocated from such funds to the department to offset  costs  associated  with the production of such license plates.    * NB There are 7 § 404-v's
