<br><br>18A.090 Personnel Board to hire full-time staff -- General counsel may be <br>designated assistant attorney general. <br>(1) As provided by the budget enacted by the General Assembly and other laws <br>applicable to state personnel, the board shall appoint an executive director who shall <br>be the chief administrative officer of the board and serve as secretary to the board. <br>He shall have proven administrative and managerial experience and familiarity with <br>equal employment opportunity laws and regulations. The board shall appoint other <br>employees it deems necessary in accordance with the provisions of this chapter. The <br>salaries of the executive director and other employees of the board shall be <br>determined by order of the board. The executive director of the board shall prepare <br>the budget request for approval by the board in the form and manner required by <br>applicable law. For the purposes of KRS Chapter 48 the board shall be considered a <br>budget unit. <br>(2) The board shall appoint a general counsel pursuant to KRS 12.210 to provide legal <br>services for the board. Upon request of the board, the Attorney General may <br>designate the general counsel as an assistant attorney general. The general counsel <br>provided for by this subsection shall not be employed by personal service contract <br>and shall be a full-time employee of the board. The general counsel shall serve as a <br>hearing officer for the board. <br>Effective: July 15, 1986 <br>History: Amended 1986 Ky.
