<br><br>21A.110 Retired justice or judge serving as special judge -- Compensation -- <br>Expenses. <br>Any retired justice or judge assigned to active judicial service pursuant to Section <br>110(5)(b) of the Constitution shall be compensated for his service as follows: <br>(1) The salary for each day which the justice or judge serves shall be the difference, if <br>any, between 1/250 of annual retirement benefits and 1/250 of the annual salary for <br>the judicial office in which he performs the judicial duties. However, no special <br>judge shall receive compensation that is less than one hundred fifty dollars (&#36;150) <br>per day. This section shall not be construed to require a reduction in retirement <br>benefits if the applicable salary would be less than the retirement benefits. <br>(2) Necessary expenses incidental to the performance of the duties of such assignment <br>shall be paid out of the State Treasury upon approval by the Chief Justice or his <br>designee. <br>Effective: July 15, 1998 <br>History: Amended 1998 Ky.
