<br><br> <br>Page 1 of 1 <br>39F.040 Specialized squad using search dogs -- Requirements -- Organization of <br>general rescue squad. <br>(1) One or more persons with search dogs and handlers may constitute a specialized <br>rescue squad using search dogs, under the terms and conditions as specified in <br>writing by the director; <br>(2) Each handler of a dog shall have a vehicle available for the transportation of the dog <br>and handler to the scene of a search; <br>(3) Each handler shall meet the training requirements of the statutes and administrative <br>regulations relating to searching with dogs; <br>(4) The primary dog utilized in responding to the search shall be certified in accordance <br>with the statutes and administrative regulations; <br>(5) Each handler shall have the equipment required by statute or administrative <br>regulation for searching with dogs; and <br>(6) No single search dog handler shall engage in general rescue squad activity or <br>specialized rescue squad activity unless he or she is a member of such an <br>organization. <br>Effective: July 15, 1998 <br>History: Created 1998 Ky.
