<br><br> <br>Page 1 of 1 <br>39F.050 Organization of general rescue squad. <br>(1) A general rescue squad shall be organized pursuant to KRS 39F.020 or 39F.030 and <br>shall engage in one or more of the activities listed in the definition of a general <br>rescue squad. A general rescue squad may engage in any other activity, other than <br>ones prohibited by law or administrative regulation, if the activity is specified in its <br>mission statement. <br>(2) A general rescue squad shall not engage in a specialized rescue squad activity as a <br>primary mission unless it meets the requirements of subsection (3) of this section. A <br>general rescue squad may engage in a specialized rescue squad activity as an initial <br>responding unit within its service area, however, upon responding to such an <br>activity, the highest officer in command of the response shall cause the immediate <br>notification of the appropriate specialized rescue squad, the local director, and the <br>duty officer of the Division of Emergency Management. <br>(3) A general rescue squad may engage in a specialized rescue squad activity if: <br>(a) That activity is specified in its mission statement; <br>(b) The rescue squad has twelve (12) persons including a commanding officer <br>from within its membership of the rescue squad whose mission statement is to <br>engage in the specialized rescue squad activity; <br>(c) The persons assigned to the specialized rescue squad activity meet the training <br>requirements specified by statute and by administrative regulation; <br>(d) The rescue squad has the equipment required by administrative regulation to <br>engage in the specialized rescue squad activity listed in its mission statement; <br>and <br>(e) The rescue squad has a vehicle for transporting the required equipment to the <br>scene. <br>Effective: July 15, 1998 <br>History: Created 1998 Ky.
