<br><br>6.696 Effect of felony conviction on state retirement benefits. <br>(1) A legislator or former legislator convicted of a felony relating to his duties as a <br>legislator, in any state or federal court of competent jurisdiction, shall forfeit rights <br>and benefits earned after September 16, 1993, under the state administered <br>retirement plan to which contributions have been made as a result of his service in <br>the General Assembly, except for the return of his accumulated contributions and <br>interest credited on those contributions. <br>(2) The payment of retirement benefits ordered forfeited shall be stayed pending any <br>appeal of the conviction. If the conviction is reversed on final judgment, no <br>retirement benefits shall be forfeited. <br>Effective: September 16, 1993 <br>History: Created 1993 (1st Extra. Sess.) Ky.
