<br><br>65.160 Special districts may be formed by two or more counties. <br>(1) Upon approval of the fiscal courts of the counties involved, two (2) or more <br>counties may join together to form a special district to fulfill any purpose which any <br>individual county is presently authorized to fulfill or may be authorized to fulfill in <br>the future. <br>(2) The membership of the governing body of such multi-county special districts shall <br>be apportioned among the counties in ratio to their population, with each county <br>having at least one (1) member. <br>(3) Members of the governing body of multi-county special districts may be removed <br>from office as provided by KRS 65.007. <br>Effective: July 15, 1980 <br>History: Amended 1980 Ky.
