<br><br>65.162 Special districts may be expanded to include additional counties. <br>(1) Any special district may be expanded to include additional counties within its <br>jurisdiction for performing the function for which it was organized. <br>(2) Before a county may participate in a multi-county special district, the fiscal court <br>shall determine that participation is feasible and necessary. The determination shall <br>be made only after a duly advertised public hearing has been held by the fiscal <br>court. <br>(3) When a county is added to a multi-county special district, it shall be given <br>representation on the governing body of the district in the same manner as the other <br>counties within the district. <br>(4) Members of the governing body of multi-county special districts may be removed <br>from office as provided by KRS 65.007. <br>Effective: July 15, 1980 <br>History: Amended 1980 Ky.
