<br><br>65.008 Expiration of term of appointed member of governing body of authority. <br>(1) At least sixty (60) days before the expiration of the term of office of an appointed <br>member of a district's governing body, the district shall notify the appointing <br>authority of the forthcoming expiration of the term of the appointed member of the <br>district's governing body. <br>(2) Unless otherwise provided by law, appointed members of district governing bodies <br>shall serve until their successors are appointed and qualified. The failure of an <br>appointing authority to appoint a successor or, if the appointing authority's <br>appointment is subject to the approval of a legislative body, to nominate a successor <br>within sixty (60) days of the expiration of the term of office of a member of a <br>district governing body shall constitute the reappointment of that member for <br>another term of office. <br>Effective: July 13, 1984 <br>History: Created 1984 Ky.
