70.160 Sheriff to visit and inspect dance halls and roadhouses. The sheriff or his deputies shall at least once each month visit and inspect each public <br>place in his county where music is furnished or permitted, or where public dancing is <br>conducted or permitted, and also all camps, restaurants, roadhouses, or any place where <br>intoxicating liquors are sold or furnished or permitted to be sold or furnished to the <br>public, or where men and women are furnished rooms for lodging either in the day or the <br>night. The sheriff shall report in writing to the county attorney his conclusions, together <br>with the name and address of any witness who claims knowledge of any violation of law <br>at such places or of any disturbance occurring at such places. He shall also file with the <br>Circuit Court clerk of his county a duplicate of each report, which shall be delivered to <br>the grand jury next to be convened in the county.
